Seishun Academy Middle School (青春学園, Seishun Gakuen), also known as Seigaku, is in Tokyo and is the school attended by the main protagonist, Echizen Ryouma.

- Ryuuzaki Sumire
- Position: Advisor, Math Teacher
Ryuuzaki has been coaching at Seigaku for approximately twenty-five years and is the grandmother of Ryuuzaki Sakuno.
OB's and former team members
- Echizen Nanjirou
- Position: Unknown
The star of Seigaku's tennis team at the time. Known as Samurai Nanjirou, he played pro tennis prior to having his son, Echizen Ryouma.
- Yamato Yuudai

He was captain when the current third years were in their first year. He is shown later in the series as part of the Japanese_U-17_Team.
Third years

The stoic, stern captain of Seigaku whose hyper focus is to take Seigaku to Nationals.
- Ooishi Shuuichirou
- Position: Vice Captain
The motherly vice captain of Seigaku who is one half of the famed Golden Pair combination along with Kikumaru Eiji.

He is hailed as Seigaku's genius, known for his Triple Counters.
- Inui Sadaharu

There are two particular things Inui is known for: Data Tennis and Inui juice.

Often heard shouting random English phrases on the court, Kawamura is known for his physical strength.

Known for his acrobatic tennis, he is the other half of the famed Golden Pair combination along with Ooishi.

The main character of the series and named by Tezuka as Seigaku's Pillar of Support. He is the son of Nanjirou.

A member of the trio who follows around Ryouma. His father is a tennis couch.

Other characters
Yuuta attended Seigaku for his first year of middle school. He did not join the tennis club, electing instead to practice at an independent tennis club, from where he was scouted by Mizuki Hajime to attend St. Rudolph.
The daughter of Ryuuzaki and a member of the girls' tennis team. She is often pictured cheering on Ryouma.
Ryuuzaki's best friend. She too is often pictured cheering on Ryouma and is the self-appointed president of Ryouma's fan club.
Uniforms
School
Boys
The winter uniform is a standard black gakuran[1] with gold buttons and a white dress shirt underneath. They have a pin on the collar with Seigaku's school emblem. The summer uniform shares pants with the winter uniform, but they wear a short sleeved white dress shirt instead.
Girls
While the design of the girls' uniform in both the anime and manga is the same, it differs in color palette. It's modeled after the sailor fuku[2] style of uniform. The anime version features a dark green skirt, a lighter green cropped jacket with dark green detailing, and a soft pink bow. The manga version, however, features the more standard blue and red color scheme. The summer uniform differs only in that they forgo the jacket.
Tennis Club
Boys
The boys' tennis uniform is a predominantly white jacket with blue sleeves and red detailing on the collar and cuffs, with Seigaku's logo across the left breast, and blue pants with Seigaku written down the leg. The club members may opt to wear either white or black shorts. The polo is modeled in the same style as the jacket, but is instead short sleeved.
Girls
The girls' tennis uniform features a white and pink polo paired a pink pleated skirt. The uniform is sometimes pictured with a white pleated skirt instead.
Trivia
- While Seigaku was one of the top in the nation while Nanjirou was playing on the team, it fell off the radar until Ryouma came to play for the school.
