Shitenhouji Middle School (四天宝寺中学校, Shitenhouji Chuugakkou), is in Osaka. They are the champions of the Kansai Tournament and have been one of the top four schools in the nation for two years running.

Watanabe appears to take a hands off approach to coaching the team. He likes to gives out kokeshi dolls[1].

- Taira Yoshiyuki
- Position: Captain
One half of the Legendary Shitenhouji Captain's combination known as Hirazen. He is known as the Smiling Sharp Shooter (or Hitma~an).
- Hara Tetsuya
- Position: Captain
The other half of the Legendary Shitenhouji Captain's combination known as HaraTetsu. He was captain for only a short time before passing captaincy off to Shiraishi. He is known as the Tsukkomi Vending Machine (突っ込み, lit. the straight man in a straight man, funny man act).

A former regular who transferred to Rikkai circa his second year. He became Ochi Tsukimitsu's doubles partner at U-17.
Third Years
- Shiraishi Kuranosuke
- Position: Captain
Known as Shitenhouji's bible and for his strong fundamentals. He was named captain in his second year after Hara passed the torch.
- Koishikawa Kenjirou
- Position: Vice-Captain
Not many seem to remember Koishikawa, but he tries his best. His favorite food is parsley.
- Chitose Senri
- Position: Regular
Chitose transferred to Shitenhouji in his third year, and is one half of the Two Wings of Kyuushuu doubles combination. He is most well known for his usage of Saiki Kanpatsu no Kiwami.
- Hitouji Yuuji
- Position: Assistant Treasurer
He is Konjiki Koharu's doubles partner and is known for his funny tactics on court. He's especially good at imitating people.
- Ishida Gin
- Position: Regular
Ishida is a power player known for his 108 levels of Hadokyuu. He is the older brother of Ishida Tetsu.
- Konjiki Koharu
- Position: Treasurer
The doubles partner of Hitouji, they are joined at the hip. He is a data player who keeps all data in his head. He is flamboyant and usually refers to himself with neutral or feminine pronouns.
- Oshitari Kenya
- Position: Regular
Known as the Speed Star of Naniwa, he is always doing everything quickly. He is the cousin of Oshitari Yuushi and has a pet iguana.
Second Years
- Zaizen Hikaru
- Position: Regular
Despite not appearing in a match other than his small participation with Chitose against the Tezuka Kunimitsu/Inui Sadaharu pair, he is known as Shitenhouji's genius. He will likely become captain next year.
First Years
- Tooyama Kintarou
- Position: Regular
Tooyama began playing tennis recently and has shot up to be one of the strongest players on the circuit. He can achieve Teni Muhou no Kiwami, but no other doors of Muga no Kyouchi. He is called the Super Rookie of The West.
Uniforms
Boys
The winter uniform is a standard black gakuran[2] with the Shitenhouji emblem pinnned to the left collar, and a white dress shirt underneath. The only difference in the summer uniform is that they wear a short sleeved white dress shirt instead. The dress shirt differs from other schools' shirts in that the collar isn't a standard oxford collar, but instead it's a short collar that circles around the neck.
Girls
The standard dress of the uniform is a one-piece with a dark accent around the arm holes and down the front. The collar is a standard sailor uniform style with the Shitenhouji emblem pinned to the bottom of the scarf. They wear knee high socks and loafers in the summer. In the winter they wear the same dress, but replace the knee high socks with tights and wear a over-the-head sweater with the scarf tucked in and the Shitenhouji emblem stitched on the left breast. In the anime the uniform is shown to be yellow and navy blue.
Tennis Club
The base color of the uniform shirt is yellow with a green bamboo forest pattern on the collar and bottom half. There is no specific requirement for what's worn under the uniform shirt, but it's typical to wear a tank top.[3] The jacket matches the uniform shirt, but the collar is the same yellow as the rest of the uniform and appears to be of a knit material. The shorts are white with the bamboo pattern on the sides, and the pants are similar except yellow instead of white.
In the anime, the bamboo pattern has been replaced with a highlighter green shade, but is otherwise identical to the manga.
They appear to be lax on the other uniform guidelines, as well, seeing as Tooyama wears a giraffe printed tank top and black shorts.
