U-17 World Cup (Overview)

The U-17 World Cup takes place in Australia and is currently in progress.

The tournament consists of three stages:

  1. Pre-WC
  2. Group League
  3. Finals Tournament

Pre-WC

The Pre-WC is a side event for sponsors and takes place one day before the start of the actual tournament. Each team selects six representatives to form doubles pairs for a total of three matches. Each pair must consist of one high school and one middle school student. All three matches are played regardless of the results.

Group League

The first stage of the World Cup itself is a round robin group format. Each group consists of four teams, the top two advance to the first round of the main draw. Following, the groups are listed. Each groups displays the teams in that group alongside their world ranking. Teams marked in bold advanced to the Finals Tournament.

As a special rule, players may switch freely which match they are going to play as long as they are one of the seven players registered for that round.
