(Prefecture: Kumamoto)
While they were a regular contender at the nationals already, two years ago, Shishigaku was reinforced by great talents in Chitose Senri and Tachibana Kippei. The duo led Shishigaku to becoming one of the best four teams in the nation last year, and for their senior year, even the championship seemed within reach. However, Shishigaku's golden age was not meant to last - after Tachibana accidentally injured Chitose in a practice match, both stars left the school. While the remaining players were competent in both singles and doubles, without a strong ace to lead them, Shishigaku lost to Higa in the Kyushu regional tournament finals and lacked the ability to challenge Hyoutei's individual skills at nationals.[1]
