Multi-Ball Strike
From Tenipuri Info
(Redirected from Phoenix of Egypt)
Multi-Ball Strikes describe strokes during which the ball is hit multiple times at once. This causes the ball to follow multiple shot paths.
In order to return multiple balls at once, a player needs to possess the following skills[1]:
- The "reflex sensitivity" to detect the incoming balls.
- The "visual acuity" to distinguish between the various balls.
- The "mental strength" to take on multiple balls.
- An "accurate stroke" to return multiple balls.
Variations
Bullfighting of Spain: A 5-Ball Strike serve performed with a reverse grip. This move also uses two physical balls. The user tosses one ball as a diversion as if he was going to hit a regular serve - this ball does not enter play. The second ball is tossed about shoulder high. With the reverse grip, the user hits five balls in a cluster closely following each other. All five have a heavy topspin. The shot is designed to break through the opponent's defenses head-on with consecutive blows.
Phoenix of Egypt: A 3-Ball Strike. The user launches all three balls into the air with a slice spin before they come crashing down on the opponent.
Pirates of America: A 6-Ball Strike during which all balls follow the same path before the bounce and scatter into different directions afterwards.
Pirates of the World: Aims countless balls at the opponent.
Snake Charmer of India: The user performs mesmerizing arm motions before hitting a 7-Ball Strike.
