[[Konomi Takeshi]] gave the group their name, where he adapted one of Fuji's catchphrases <ruby><rb>断ち切る</rb><rp>(</rp><rt>たちきる</rt><rp>)</rp></ruby> (<i>tachikiru</i>, lit. to sever/to cut off [an attack]) and ばい (''bai'', a sentence ending word in [https://www.jlect.com/forum/472-kumamoto-ben-a-primer-on-the-kumamoto-dialect/0 Kumamoto dialect] that is used for emphasizing the statement<ref>https://dic.pixiv.net/a/by%E6%96%AD%E3%81%A1%E5%88%87%E3%82%8A%E9%9A%8A</ref>) that is frequently said by Chitose.

While there is no official statement on the meaning of the name itself, it has been speculated that the name is a pun.
